The Bahá'í Faith in St. Albert

There has been an active Bahá'í community in St. Albert since 1970. The first Local Spiritual Assembly of St. Albert - an elected nine member body that guides the administrative affairs of the local community - was elected in 1972.

The widespread adoption speaks to how close some of the core Bahá’í principles are to the values in Canadian culture.

The Bahá’í Faith in the World

The Baháʼí Faith is a relatively new religion teaching the essential worth of all religions and the unity of all people. Established by Baháʼu'lláh in the 19th century, it initially developed in Iran and parts of the Middle East, where it has faced ongoing persecution since its inception.
